Trichoderma Harzianum

Technology Details:
Trichoderma harzianum has been described as a promising antagonistic agent against various phytopathogenic fungi and nematodes. Trichoderma harzianum IIHR TH-2 had exhibited antagonistic activity against root knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita by causing 66 - 68% suppression in egg hatching; 62 to 67% inhibition in growth of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. vasinfectum; 64 to 67% inhibition in growth of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici; 67 to 72% inhibition in growth of Sclerotium rolfsii; 61 to 68% inhibition in growth of Fusarium solani. It also exhibited an increase in yield of 15.8 to 17.4% in brinjal, 15.2 to 17.4% in carrot, 18.4 to 19.3 % in tomato and 14.2 to 14.7% in okra under field conditions. This ability makes it a healthier, safer and environmentally friendlier biological choice, compared with polluting chemical pesticides, usually employed in agriculture.
